The Fellowship

The Fellowship

“The Fellowship”

Father God, help us to be more submissive to you in Jesus Name, Amen. Thank God for today. You have overcome. Amen, hallelujah!

I will try to give you a little insight into why your fellowship is such a big deal to God and why we must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Check this out. In Genesis. 3:8-12, it is recorded that the Lord God was walking in the garden in the cool of the day. Adam and his wife heard Him and took off to hide. Now if they were not familiar with His presence, how would they have recognized who was coming? God called out to Adam and he responded. This guy Adam was on talking terms with God. It was a “two-way” conversation between GOD and a man. That was fellowship. What about Abraham in Genesis 17:1, 3, 22? He and God were “flowing gist” on his future.

A lot of the times believers tend to stray or go on “hajj” if you please, from the presence of the trice holy God. Most times, we are too wrapped up in Caesar’s business, dash off at dawn just to be back at dusk fagged out or simply too B-U-S-Y (Bound Under Satan’s Yolk) watching “seemingly harmless” unedifying and useless TV programs or simply doing the “AMEBO” (Gossip) thing on a social network site or worse still doing nothing to the detriment of The Fellowship we are supposed to have with our maker. Yet we are instructed to “redeem the time” put our time into something more enduring (Ephesians 5:16, Colossians 4:5)

The Greek word translated Fellowship is “koinonia”. (Pronounced koy-nohn-ee’-ah) it means partnership, joint participation or (social) intercourse. Now, there is a lot laden in that word. We will be there in a minute. Hallelujah!

Who says fellowship can only take place in the four walls of the church building or may be at the home cell groups? No way, as long as you are a member of that mystical body of Christ called the Church, it can transpire at anytime and anyplace. Your Lord and your God wants to be a part of every iota of your life, but it’s only that part you release to him that He walks into. Guess you already know that?

When you said yes to Him to be your Lord and savior, He bought you, paid your (bride) price in full with His blood. Acts 20:28 “…the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood” 1Corinthians 6:20 20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1Corinthians 7:23 23 “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” You don’t belong to you any more, you are His for eternity. As long as you are a member of the church of Christ you are His BRIDE and He is the BRIDEGROOM, you must live your life for Him. Mark 2:18-20, Revelation 19:7 7 “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready”

He expects you to talk to Him and with Him about any and everything. He answers, not just the difficult ones, even down to the bitty-gritty of everyday life. Go boldly to Him. It’s your right “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16 16 You are not a beggar but a son, whether full grown or still a child. The fact remains that you have a relationship with Him.

I know it does not happen overnight but get started today. Be conscious of His presence all the time “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” (Ephesians 6:18) Speak in tongues as you go. Yes, tongues and I mean tongues. Except you are ashamed of the heavenly language your father gave you. It will help you, big time. It is a prayer language “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries”1Corinthians 14:2, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” Jude 1:20

Now in the New Testament, Hallelujah. We are told in (1Corinthians 1:9) God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the Fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord  This is where I am going. The fellowship of his son Jesus Christ. Remember the above definition on fellowship? We will take them one at a time

You must make time for the lover of your soul, “your better half” permit me to use that phrase. Look at the dictionary meanings of the words

Dictionary meanings

Partnership and participation

1: The state of being a partner: PARTICIPATION

2: A legal relation existing between two or more persons contractually associated as joint    principals in a business etc

(Social) Intercourse and communion

1: connection or dealings between persons or groups

2: exchange especially of thoughts or feelings: COMMUNION

Need I say any more? They are paired, does this not ring a bell? Remember in the Old Testament, (Isaiah 54:5) “For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name…” God tells the nation of Israel that He is their husband. The Hebrew word is ba`al, pronounced (baw-al) In this context it’s from a primitive root; to be master; hence, to marry:–have dominion (over), be husband, marry (-ried, as in wife). No wonder He often called them harlots and accused them of committing ADULTERY each time they strayed or like I’d love to put it, went on “hajj” to other gods.Jeremiah3:8 backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also”. Ezekiel 23:37) now is that not the same spirit that crossed over to the new testament almost everywhere you look?

Now this could blow your mind, be ready for it. If in the Old Testament God is the husband of the nation of Israel and in the New Testament Jesus is the bridegroom of the church and you are a member of that body. What does that tell you? You are His bride! He is jealous of His love going to another “man” and not paying Him attention always. Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” Yet we go on “hajj” away from the Lord spending those precious little moments with other things. They could even be legit. But once we give most of your undivided attention to a particular thing, person or situation, they have become our idols whether we believe it or not. That is because they take the time that should go to Him.

Like your spouse, (for those who are married). He wants your 100% attention.

When you get into fellowship with Him in worship or praise that is when He opens up to you. Like a couple that you are. That is when you learn more about Him and how to better serve Him. In the inner recesses of your heart He wants to dwell there, in every detail of the word KOINONIA. You are His bride. He paid your “bride” price on the Cross of Calvary. You are the Lord’s legitimate bride and He needs your attention. Like the husband to the wife, it’s a one on one relationship. No third party. He wants that social intercourse with you. Stop robbing the Lord of His legitimate right. Ever heard of a third party coming between couples when they are in their most intimate session? It’s a sacred period, just meant for two.

This is why it is such a big deal to God. Tell me, who will not be upset when the spouse they trust and invested in so much just handles their relationship with levity? But this “lover of your soul” still cares and loves you beyond what you can ever imagine. He is ever faithful. The mind blowing part of this is simply that all this is just for you, to get you to your expected destination. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”

You may not have all the time (I wonder why not though) but speaking in tongues would help you in public to remain connected to His “network” “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God” Romans 8:26-27

Stop depriving the Lord His rightful possession and you the benefits. Dare to be in the spirit as you go about your daily routine. You will function better and expend less energy. Dare to have that intimate “romance” with the lover of your soul –Jesus and discover just why and how the sky becomes your stepping stone to greater heights. God bless you.

Amen
