Speaking In Tongues

Speaking In Tongues

Speaking in Tongues
I hope you had a good week? Thank God for mercies. Today I will be dwelling on TONGUES, speaking in tongues.
WAIT! Never push the things of God aside for later for “procrastination is the thief of life” not just time.
Last week I made a reference to the fact that tongue talking helps the believer a great deal. In fact in so many ways the believer himself cannot fully grasp. I will try and make this short by breaking it up into parts.
But first things first.
Father in heaven, it’s another day for your word to go do that which you sent it. This do o Lord, so your people could be edified and all glory be made fully manifest in you. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

I want to believe that you already can speak in tongues. That is a simple prayer language given to the believer as a secret private weapon that the devil cannot decode but if not then this is for you. Scripture says
“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:2,
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” Jude 1:20. I will explain.
In the Old Testament, tongues was regarded as the instrument of licking, eating, or speech but in the New Testament it’s the Greek word “glossa” pronounced (gloce-sah) it’s of uncertain affinity; the tongue; by implication, a language (specially, one not naturally acquired):–tongue.

IN THE BOOK OF Mark 16:17 it says “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues
Amongst other things the believer in Christ is endowed with is the gift of this prayer language, tongues. The verse says these signs shall follow THEM THAT BELIEVE. Are you a believer in Christ? Then you qualify. It didn’t say the pastors, prophets or any other office holder in the body but it says THEM THAT BELIEVE. That means you, yes you reading this write up.

You say, “Well in my church we hardly speak. It’s only when the spirit gets a hold of you in deep prayers that you may burst into tongues” really? Where in the Bible did you find that?
In Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4 it says “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
That was the beginning. The Holy Ghost is here today. You don’t have to FEEL anything to speak in tongues. It’s an act of FAITH not feelings. That verse in Mark 16:17 says nothing about understanding, it simply says believe. That is why it is faith. There is nowhere in the word of God He expects you to understand Him. He simply says BELIEVE and you will RECEIVE. “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24

When you are speaking in tongues, you are already in the spirit. For no prayer can reach the throne of Grace without the help of the Holy Ghost. You think you know how to pray? The Bible says you don’t. “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR THE SAINTS ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF GOD. Romans 8: 26-27

You need the Holy Ghost to pray correctly. How? Speak in tongues. That is the only way the devil cannot highjack your request. Not just that, you send perfect praise to God through tongues. Speaking in tongues even in the public place might sound embarrassing to you but hey, wait a second! Wasn’t that what David did in public when the wife thought he was a crazy old fool? She ended up being the only woman in scripture barren, a punishment for her offense.
The word halal, (pronounced haw-lal’) in Hebrew means to make a show, to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causatively, to celebrate. That was the kind of dance and praise David did in the open that made the wife think he was a foolish man.

If God delights in you acting clamorously foolish for Him even in public, what’s your problem? Is it that you are too Hi-tech, sophisticated or too highly placed in the society to be seen in fellowship with your father? Common, we are talking about your creator here. This is not even for Him but for you. He is the self existing one, the “panto-cratos” (The Almighty) the ‘el God, the Gadowl
What! Ashamed? No, I believe better things of you. In the past you did not know but now you do. Do not be ashamed to praise your father in public for He will be proud of you and deal with your enemies or situation like in the case of David. He does not want anything from you. He just wants an opportunity to be able to reach you to bless you for you.

Pray in tongues, sing in tongues always yes, you read right. I said sing in tongues. It is a WILLFUL ACT ON YOUR PART Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:15 “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” and see the salvation of the Lord. Paul never said you have to feel any sensation before speaking in tongues, just do it.

The benefits:
When you get into speaking in tongues you are actually dealing with issues in the perfect way God wants it dealt with. Like I said earlier “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8: 26-27.

That is the best way to fellowship with your Father in heaven. It is as easy as you got born again. No stress. It is all by faith. Just open your mouth and God will fill it with the language of heaven. Do not try to reason out what to say. You are not meant to understand it according to 1 Corinthians 14:2 it says “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
And 1 Corinthians 14:14 says “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, MY SPIRIT PRAYETH, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Just like you open your mouth to speak in whatever language you know to speak, same way. You do not have to turn up a knob or throw a switch; you just speak and can switch from English to another language without stress.
You build up yourself spiritually. Like building blocks you set things for yourself according to Jude 1:20. Whatever structure (weak or strong) that you want to have is up to you.

If the roots are deep and strong the tree does not worry about the wind the bottom line of the scripture in Jeremiah. 17:7-8

You will need this ability all Year round. These are the end times.
I can never over emphasize this. God wants you in fellowship with Him for your good. I pray that the eleventh hour blessing be yours for ever in Jesus name, just like the thief on the Cross. (Luke 23:40-43) It’s never too late with the Lord.

Give this a shot. Make out time, for starters maybe after work at night or even early before work. Just speak in tongues for fifteen to thirty minutes (15-30 minutes) see what you get.
Scientifically, it has been proven that something actually happens to the believer when he speaks in tongues as against someone else who just conjures up some incomprehensible monologue of broken gibberish.

My parting word on this for now is that you consider the turtle; he makes progress only when he sticks his head out just like Peter walked on water (Matthew 14:28-29) God Bless You.

Yours in Him
